McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, most U.S. McDonald’s locations have agreed to prolong the promotion that initially launched on June 25 for four weeks.

The bundle will remain available at about 93% of restaurants across the country, though the duration of the promotion may vary by location, with some choosing to keep the deal active until August.

As consumers face high food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s deal is proving to be beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai observed a significant increase in customer visits shortly after the promotion began, indicating its strong appeal.

This move has prompted other fast casual dining brands to respond with their own promotions. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal deal, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available longer than McDonald’s offer and introduced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s is also participating in the deal promotions with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
