McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a report by Bloomberg, a majority of McDonald’s restaurants in the U.S. have agreed to continue the promotion, which initially launched on June 25, beyond its original four-week timeframe.

The meal deal will be available at approximately 93% of locations nationwide, though the duration of the offer may differ by individual restaurant, with some opting to extend it until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in fast casual dining, this bundle has proven beneficial for McDonald’s. Foot traffic analytics company Placer.ai reported that following the introduction of the deal, McDonald’s saw a notable increase in customer visits, suggesting that the promotion is appealing to consumers.

The successful promotion has prompted other fast casual dining establishments to respond with their own deals. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. In June, Taco Bell announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would be offered for a longer period than McDonald’s deal, and they also unveiled new items as part of their “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and has recently introduced a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
