McDonald’s has announced that its $5 meal deal will be available for an extended period, after a majority of its U.S. locations agreed to keep the promotion going beyond the initial four weeks that began on June 25.

According to a report, the meal bundle will remain available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the specific duration may vary by location. Some franchises have chosen to offer the deal until August.

With consumers facing high food prices, particularly in fast casual dining, McDonald’s promotion has proven beneficial for the company. Research from Placer.ai revealed a significant increase in foot traffic at McDonald’s locations shortly after the bundle was introduced, indicating its popularity among customers.

This move has prompted competitors in the fast casual sector to respond with their own deals. Arby’s has launched a $9 bundle, while Sonic now offers a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently introduced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would run longer than McDonald’s promotion. Additionally, the chain has added new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s has introduced various deals, including a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
