McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for a few more weeks, according to a report from Bloomberg citing an internal memo from the company. This promotion, which initially launched on June 25, is now set to continue at approximately 93% of McDonald’s locations across the United States, although the duration may vary by location, with some restaurants choosing to keep the deal available until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly for fast casual dining, the bundle has proven beneficial for McDonald’s. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a significant increase in visits to McDonald’s restaurants shortly after the promotion began, highlighting its appeal among customers.

The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast casual dining establishments to respond with their own promotions. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, and Sonic has rolled out a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell has also entered the fray, offering a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box along with its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer period than McDonald’s offering, while also introducing new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined in the competitive pricing with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
