Fast food giant McDonald’s will continue its $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to Bloomberg, referencing an internal memo, most U.S.-based McDonald’s locations have agreed to extend the promotion beyond its initial four-week run that started on June 25.

The meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, with variations in the length of the promotion depending on the location. Some outlets may continue the deal until August.

As consumers face rising food prices and tightening budgets, this value offer has proved beneficial for McDonald’s. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported that after the launch of the meal deal, the chain experienced a significant increase in customer visits, indicating strong consumer interest.

The success of this promotion has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own offers. Arby’s introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell, in June, also announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box and continued its $5 Taco Discovery Box alongside its Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer duration than McDonald’s deal. The chain is also expanding its menu with new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the competitive landscape with a $3 breakfast bundle and is now offering a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
