McDonald’s has announced an extension of its $5 meal deal for several more weeks, as reported by Bloomberg based on an internal memo. This promotion, which began on June 25, has been embraced by most McDonald’s locations across the United States, with about 93% participating. The duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some restaurants opting to continue the deal until August.

As consumers face rising food prices in the fast casual dining sector, McDonald’s bundle has proven popular, contributing to increased traffic in its restaurants. According to foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai, there was a significant rise in customer visits following the introduction of the meal deal, indicating its appeal to consumers.

This promotional success has prompted other fast casual dining chains to react. For instance, Arby’s has launched a $9 bundle, Sonic is offering a permanent $1.99 value menu, and Taco Bell is introducing a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer period than McDonald’s offering, and it plans to add new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also entered the competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
