McDonald’s $5 Meal Deal Extended: What You Need to Know!

McDonald’s, the fast food leader, has announced that its popular $5 meal deal will be available for several more weeks. According to a memo cited by Bloomberg, a majority of McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have agreed to extend the promotion beyond its initial four-week period that started on June 25.

The meal deal will continue to be offered at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, with the duration of the promotion varying by location, as some franchises choose to extend it until August.

With consumers facing rising food prices, particularly in fast casual dining, the McDonald’s bundle has proven to be favorable for the company. Recently, foot traffic analysis by Placer.ai indicated a significant increase in customers visiting McDonald’s outlets shortly after the introduction of the meal deal, demonstrating its appeal to patrons.

The success of McDonald’s promotion has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own deals. Arby’s has launched a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Burger King, in late May, declared that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would outlast McDonald’s offering, and introduced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined the mix with a $3 breakfast bundle and has rolled out a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
