McDonald’s $5 Meal Deal Extended: What You Need to Know!

McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, according to a memo reported by Bloomberg. The promotion, which initially launched on June 25, will continue to be available at about 93% of McDonald’s locations across the United States. However, the duration of the offer may vary depending on the individual restaurant, with some choosing to keep it active until August.

As consumers grapple with rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the meal bundle has proven beneficial for McDonald’s. A report from foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai indicated that the introduction of the deal has led to a significant increase in customers visiting McDonald’s establishments.

The success of McDonald’s promotion has triggered a response from other fast casual dining chains, many of which are now launching their own competitive offers. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell has been active as well, promoting a $7 Luxe Cravings Box, alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King announced an extension for its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle, which would last longer than McDonald’s offer. Additionally, Wendy’s has joined the competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and introduced a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
