McDonald’s has decided to continue its popular $5 meal deal for a few additional weeks, extending a promotion that initially launched on June 25. According to recent reports, most U.S.-based McDonald’s locations have chosen to keep the bundle available beyond the expected four-week period.
The deal will still be accessible at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the nation, although the duration may differ by location, with some extending it until August.
As consumers face rising food prices, particularly for fast casual dining options, the $5 bundle is proving beneficial for McDonald’s. Recent data from foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai indicates a significant increase in visitor numbers to McDonald’s locations following the launch of the promotion, highlighting its appeal among customers.
The success of this deal has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own promotions. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has made its $1.99 value menu a permanent fixture. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box to complement its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.
In late May, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would have a longer duration than McDonald’s offer, and the chain is also adding new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has participated in the competition with its own $3 breakfast bundle, alongside a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
