McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, following a strong reception from consumers. A memo from the fast food chain revealed that a significant number of U.S. locations agreed to prolong the offer, which initially started on June 25.

According to reports, nearly 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide will continue to offer this bundle, although the promotion’s duration may vary by location, with some extending it until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the $5 meal deal has proven beneficial for McDonald’s, helping to drive increased customer visits. Foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai indicated a notable uptick in customers coming to McDonald’s following the launch of the deal.

This promotion has also prompted other fast casual dining chains to launch competitive offers. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has added a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box, alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Meanwhile, Burger King declared that its own $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available longer than McDonald’s deal, and the chain is expanding its menu with new items. Wendy’s is also participating in the promotional trend with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
