McDonald’s will continue its $5 meal deal for an extended period, following positive responses from consumers. According to a memo cited by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have agreed to prolong the promotion beyond its original four-week timeframe that began on June 25.
The meal deal will remain available at about 93% of outlets nationwide, though the duration of the offer may differ by location, with some restaurants extending it into August.
As consumers face high food prices, especially in the fast-casual dining sector, this bundle has proven beneficial for McDonald’s. Data from foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai revealed that the restaurant chain experienced a significant increase in customer visits shortly after launching the promotion, suggesting that it has struck a chord with diners.
The popularity of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast-casual dining establishments to respond with their own promotions. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell has also entered the fray with a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box, in addition to its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.
Additionally, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer period, along with new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also participated in the trend, offering a $3 breakfast bundle and launching a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
