McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo obtained by Bloomberg, a majority of McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have agreed to prolong the promotion beyond its initial four-week duration, which began on June 25.

The meal deal will continue to be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country. However, the duration of the promotion may vary depending on the location, with some restaurants choosing to keep it available until August.

As consumers face high prices in restaurants, particularly in the fast casual segment, this bundle has proven beneficial for McDonald’s. A recent analysis by foot traffic firm Placer.ai revealed a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s in the days following the launch of the meal deal, indicating its strong appeal among customers.

This promotion has prompted other fast casual dining establishments to respond with their own deals. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu, and Taco Bell is offering a $7 Luxe Cravings Box and a $5 Taco Discovery Box alongside its Cravings Value Menu.

In May, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available longer than McDonald’s deal, while also introducing new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also entered the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle, in addition to launching a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
