The fast food powerhouse McDonald’s is set to extend its $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to reports, a majority of McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have chosen to continue this promotion, which originally started on June 25 for a four-week period.
The offer will remain available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, though the duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some extending it through August.
This extended deal comes as consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector. McDonald’s bundle has proven to be beneficial for the company, attracting a surge in customers. A recent analysis by foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai indicated that following the introduction of the bundle, McDonald’s experienced a significant increase in customer visits, demonstrating its appeal.
The success of McDonald’s promotion has sparked competition among other fast casual dining establishments, prompting them to introduce their own deals. Arby’s now offers a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Additionally, Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.
In late May, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would be available longer than McDonald’s offering, also introducing new items in its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has responded with promotions including a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
