McDonald’s, the popular fast food chain, has decided to extend its $5 meal deal for several more weeks.

According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, a majority of U.S. McDonald’s locations have agreed to continue the promotion beyond its initially planned four-week period, which started on June 25. This meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of restaurants across the nation, although the duration of the offer may differ by location, with some franchises extending it until August.

In the current economic climate, where consumers are navigating high food prices, especially in the fast casual dining segment, the McDonald’s meal bundle has proven to be successful for the brand.

Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s restaurants shortly after the bundle was introduced, indicating that the deal is appealing to consumers.

This promotion has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own offers. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. In June, Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and the Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King has indicated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” will be available for a longer duration than McDonald’s offer, and it recently introduced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also entered the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
