McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, as confirmed by a memo reported by Bloomberg. The promotion, which initially started on June 25, will now be available at approximately 93% of U.S. locations, although the duration of the offer may differ by restaurant, with some extending it through August.

This move comes at a time when many consumers are struggling with high food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector. The $5 bundle has reportedly been successful in enticing more customers into McDonald’s restaurants. Analytics firm Placer.ai noted a significant increase in foot traffic shortly after the promotion was launched, indicating strong consumer interest.

The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast casual chains to explore similar promotions. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. In June, Taco Bell announced its $7 Luxe Cravings Box and continued to offer the $5 Taco Discovery Box and its Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer period than the McDonald’s deal, as it also plans to introduce new items with its “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s has joined the competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
