McDonald’s has decided to extend its $5 meal deal for several more weeks, according to a memo reported by Bloomberg. The promotion, which started on June 25, has gained traction, with most U.S. locations agreeing to continue offering it beyond the initial four-week period.

The meal bundle will still be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although individual locations may have varying end dates for the promotion. Some restaurants plan to maintain the deal until August.

As consumers navigate higher food prices and look for budget-friendly dining options, the $5 bundle has proven to be beneficial for McDonald’s. A recent analysis by foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai showed a notable increase in customer visits following the introduction of the meal deal, indicating its popularity among consumers.

The success of McDonald’s promotion has prompted other fast-casual dining establishments to respond with their own deals. Arby’s has rolled out a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In addition, Burger King has stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” will be available longer than McDonald’s offer, and the chain is also adding new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the competition by launching a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
