McDonald’s has announced that it will continue its $5 meal deal for several more weeks following a successful initial launch. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have agreed to extend the promotion, which started on June 25.

The meal bundle will remain available at approximately 93% of restaurants nationwide, although the specific duration of the offer may differ by location, with some restaurants extending it through August.

Given the current economic climate and rising food prices, particularly in fast casual dining, the McDonald’s bundle has proven beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai indicated a significant increase in customers visiting McDonald’s restaurants shortly after the promotion commenced, suggesting its appeal to consumers.

Other fast casual dining chains have taken notice and are launching their own competitive offers. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has unveiled a permanent value menu priced at $1.99. Taco Bell is featuring a $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In addition, Burger King has extended its $5 “Your Way Meal” beyond the initial timeframe of McDonald’s promotion. The chain also announced the addition of new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the trend with a $3 breakfast bundle and has also rolled out a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
