McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, according to a memo reported by Bloomberg. The fast food chain originally launched the promotion on June 25, and now most of its U.S. locations have agreed to continue it beyond the initial four-week period.

The $5 meal deal will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, although the duration of the promotion may vary by location. Some franchises have decided to keep the deal going until August.

As consumers grapple with rising food prices, especially at fast casual dining establishments, the McDonald’s bundle appears to be attracting attention, translating into increased business for the company. Analytics firm Placer.ai indicated that foot traffic surged in McDonald’s restaurants shortly after the promotion’s launch, highlighting its appeal.

The success of this deal has prompted rival fast casual chains to respond with their own offers. Arby’s, for example, has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In additional competitive moves, Burger King stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would last longer than McDonald’s promotion and added new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined the fray, offering a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
