McDonald’s is extending its $5 meal deal for several more weeks due to its popularity among consumers.

According to Bloomberg, a memo from the company revealed that most U.S.-based McDonald’s locations have agreed to continue the promotion beyond the initial four weeks, which began on June 25. The deal will be available in approximately 93% of restaurants nationwide, although some franchises may choose to offer it until August.

This extension comes at a time when many consumers are struggling with rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector. The $5 bundle has proven to be effective for McDonald’s, with foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reporting a significant increase in customers visiting the restaurants following the launch of the promotion.

The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own promotions. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell, in June, announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box along with its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Earlier in May, Burger King reported that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available longer than McDonald’s offer and announced new items for its “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s has also joined the deal competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and introduced a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
