McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for a few additional weeks, according to a memo reported by Bloomberg. This promotion, which initially launched on June 25, will continue to be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s locations across the United States. However, the duration of the promotion may vary by restaurant, with some locations choosing to extend the deal until August.
As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle has proven successful for the company. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a significant increase in customers visiting the restaurants soon after the launch of the bundle, indicating that the promotion is appealing to consumers.
The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own promotional offers. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, in addition to its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.
Burger King previously stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be extended beyond the McDonald’s offer. They had also announced new items as part of their “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s is participating in the promotional wave with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
