McDonald’s $5 Meal Deal Extended: What It Means for Fast Food Fans!

McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for a few more weeks, according to a memo reported by Bloomberg. The promotion, which initially launched on June 25, has gained traction, with many U.S. locations opting to continue it beyond the original four-week timeframe. Approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide will offer this bundle, although the duration may vary by location, with some extending the deal until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle has proven beneficial for the company. A recent analysis by foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai revealed that there was a notable increase in customer visits to McDonald’s restaurants following the introduction of the deal, indicating its strong appeal.

This successful promotion has prompted rival fast casual chains to respond with their own offers. Arby’s has launched a $9 bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell also announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and standard Cravings Value Menu.

Earlier this year, Burger King indicated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would run longer than McDonald’s promotion and introduced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Additionally, Wendy’s has entered the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
