Fast food giant McDonald’s is extending its $5 meal deal for several more weeks.

According to a memo from the company, a majority of U.S. McDonald’s locations have agreed to continue the promotion beyond its initial four-week launch on June 25. The deal will be available at approximately 93% of restaurants nationwide, although specific durations may vary by location, with some extending the deal until August.

Amid rising food prices that are impacting consumers, especially in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle has proven successful for the company.

Recent data from foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai indicated that the introduction of the meal bundle led to a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s restaurants, highlighting its appeal to consumers.

The promotion has also triggered a competitive response from other fast casual dining brands. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced its limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside the $5 Taco Discovery Box and its Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King has extended its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle and introduced new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined the trend with a $3 breakfast bundle and has since rolled out a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
