McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, according to a memo from the fast-food chain reported by Bloomberg. The promotion, which originally launched on June 25, will continue to be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s locations across the United States, although the duration may vary by individual restaurant, with some extending the offer until August.
With many consumers facing rising food costs, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s deal has proven beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai revealed that following the introduction of the bundle, there was a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s locations, indicating that the promotion has been well received.
Other fast casual dining chains have taken notice and are responding with their own enticing offers. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has created a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell has recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.
Additionally, Burger King has committed to extend its $5 “Your Way Meal” beyond McDonald’s timeframe, while also updating its menu with new items. Wendy’s is not far behind, offering a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
