McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks across a majority of its U.S. restaurants. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, the promotion, which began on June 25, will continue at around 93% of locations, although the specifics may vary by region, with some restaurants opting to keep the deal until August.

This extension comes as consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, making McDonald’s offer appealing. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a notable increase in customers visiting McDonald’s restaurants following the launch of the deal, indicating its success among consumers.

The popularity of McDonald’s promotion has prompted other fast casual chains to respond with their own offers. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box and maintains its $5 Taco Discovery Box along with a Cravings Value Menu.

Burger King declared that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would run longer than McDonald’s offer and is also expanding its menu. Similarly, Wendy’s has joined the trend with a $3 breakfast bundle and is now offering a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
