McDonald’s is extending its $5 meal deal for several more weeks. A memo indicated that many McDonald’s locations across the U.S. have agreed to continue the promotion, which initially began on June 25.
The popular meal bundle will remain available at approximately 93% of restaurants nationwide, although the length of the promotion may vary by location, with some opting to extend the deal through August.
As consumers face high food prices, particularly in fast casual dining, the McDonald’s bundle has proven effective for the company. A report from foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai noted a significant increase in customer visits shortly after the launch of the bundle, highlighting its appeal to consumers.
This promotion has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond by introducing their own value deals. Arby’s is featuring a $9 bundle, while Sonic has implemented a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.
In late May, Burger King mentioned that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would last longer than McDonald’s offer and introduced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s is also participating in the promotional trend with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
