Fast food chain McDonald’s is set to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a report from Bloomberg citing a memo from the company, a majority of McDonald’s restaurants in the U.S. have agreed to prolong the promotion, which was originally introduced on June 25.

The meal bundle will continue to be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s locations nationwide, with variations in the promotion’s duration depending on each location. Some restaurants have decided to extend the offer until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast-casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle has proven successful for the company. Foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai revealed a significant increase in customers visiting McDonald’s after the launch of the deal, indicating its strong appeal.

In response to McDonald’s promotion, other fast-casual dining establishments have started to offer their own deals. Arby’s has rolled out a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and its Cravings Value Menu.

Meanwhile, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” will be available longer than McDonald’s offer and has also launched new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Additionally, Wendy’s has introduced a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag,” joining the competitive landscape of fast food deals.
