McDonald’s has decided to extend its $5 meal deal for several more weeks following a successful initial run that started on June 25. According to a memo from the fast-food chain, most U.S. locations have agreed to prolong the promotion beyond the initially planned four-week period.

The offer will continue at around 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, although the duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some extending it until August. This decision comes as many consumers face rising food prices, making the affordable meal bundle particularly attractive.

Data from Placer.ai, a firm that analyzes foot traffic, indicates that McDonald’s restaurants have seen a significant increase in customers since the launch of the $5 deal, highlighting its popularity among diners.

In response to McDonald’s success, other fast casual dining establishments are introducing their own promotions. Arby’s has rolled out a $9 bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Earlier this year, Burger King declared that its own $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available longer than McDonald’s option, as the chain also expanded its menu with a “Fiery Menu.” Additionally, Wendy’s has joined the fray, offering a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
