McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, the decision comes after a majority of U.S.-based McDonald’s locations agreed to keep the promotion going beyond its initial four-week run, which started on June 25.

The meal deal will continue to be available at approximately 93% of restaurants nationwide, though the duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some extending it until August.

With consumers facing rising food prices and tighter budgets, this value offering has proven beneficial for McDonald’s. A recent analysis by Placer.ai showed a significant increase in foot traffic to McDonald’s locations following the launch of the deal, indicating its strong appeal to customers.

This promotion has also prompted other fast-casual dining chains to react. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box in addition to its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Burger King previously stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would remain available longer than McDonald’s offering and also introduced new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and recently unveiled a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
