McDonald’s is extending its $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo from the company, a majority of McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have opted to continue this promotion, which first launched on June 25.

The meal deal will still be available at approximately 93% of restaurants across the country, although the duration of the promotion may differ by location. Some franchises have decided to keep the deal running through August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle has proven to be successful for the company. Data from foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai showed a notable increase in customer visits to McDonald’s outlets shortly after the bundle was introduced, indicating that the promotion has struck a chord with consumers.

This move has prompted other fast casual chains to react by launching their own competitive deals. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and the Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King extended its own $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle beyond the duration of McDonald’s offer, and earlier that month, it revealed plans to introduce new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Additionally, Wendy’s has joined the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
