Fast food leader McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memorandum referenced by Bloomberg, the majority of McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have agreed to keep the promotion active beyond its initial four-week duration, which began on June 25.

This meal bundle will continue to be available at around 93% of restaurants nationwide, though the specific length of the promotion may vary by location. Some outlets have chosen to prolong the deal until August.

In a time marked by rising food prices that have strained consumers, particularly in fast casual dining, McDonald’s promotion has proved beneficial for the company.

Recent analysis by foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai revealed that following the introduction of the bundle, McDonald’s experienced a significant increase in customer visits, indicating the deal’s appeal among consumers.

The success of McDonald’s has prompted other fast casual dining chains to react by launching their own promotions. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has unveiled a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time offer of a $7 Luxe Cravings Box, alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King stated that its own $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle will run longer than McDonald’s deal and revealed plans to introduce new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the fray too, rolling out a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
