McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, responding to the needs of budget-conscious customers amid rising food prices. According to reports, most U.S. locations of the fast food chain will continue to offer the promotion, which began on June 25, with some restaurants extending it into August.
The $5 bundle is available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s locations nationwide, although the exact duration of the promotion may differ by site. The initiative has already proven successful, as foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai noted a significant increase in customers visiting McDonald’s after the deal was launched.
The success of McDonald’s $5 meal deal has prompted other fast casual dining chains to enter the competitive landscape with their own promotions. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has rolled out a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.
Additionally, Burger King indicated its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would outlast the McDonald’s offering, and it plans to introduce new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the fray as well, offering a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
