McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo from the fast-food chain, most locations in the United States have agreed to continue the promotion that originally launched on June 25 for four weeks.

The meal bundle will remain available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, although the duration of the promotion may vary by location, with some franchises choosing to extend until August.

This promotion comes at a time when consumers are facing higher food prices, particularly in the fast-casual dining sector, making the McDonald’s bundle appealing. Recent data from Placer.ai indicates that there was a significant increase in foot traffic at McDonald’s following the launch of the meal deal, suggesting it has struck a chord with customers.

In response to McDonald’s successful promotion, other fast-casual dining chains are also introducing their deals. Arby’s has rolled out a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box in addition to its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Meanwhile, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” will be available for longer than the McDonald’s deal. Additionally, it has introduced new menu items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also entered the competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
