McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo cited by Bloomberg, a majority of U.S.-based McDonald’s locations agreed to continue the promotion, which initially launched on June 25 and was supposed to last four weeks.

The meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of restaurants across the country, although the duration of the offer may differ by location, with some restaurants choosing to continue it through August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s deal has proven successful for the company. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s restaurants shortly after the promotion was introduced, indicating that the offer has resonated well with patrons.

The success of McDonald’s $5 meal deal has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own promotions. Arby’s launched a $9 bundle, while Sonic introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Additionally, Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Meanwhile, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer period than the McDonald’s offering, while also adding new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
