McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, following initial positive results since its launch on June 25. According to Bloomberg, a memo revealed that most U.S. McDonald’s locations are on board with continuing the promotion, which will be available in approximately 93% of restaurants across the country. The duration of this promotion may vary by location, with some restaurants choosing to offer the deal until August.

As consumers cope with rising food prices, particularly in the fast-casual dining segment, McDonald’s has noted that the bundle deal has proven beneficial for the company. Analytics company Placer.ai reported a significant increase in foot traffic to McDonald’s locations shortly after the deal’s introduction, highlighting its appeal to customers.

This successful promotion has prompted a competitive response from other fast-casual brands. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent value menu priced at $1.99. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box, in addition to its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Furthermore, Burger King has announced that its own $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle will remain available longer than McDonald’s offer, while also rolling out new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has introduced a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo named the “Biggie Bag,” joining the ongoing value competition in the fast-food industry.
