McDonald’s $5 Meal Deal Extended Amid Fast Food Price Wars!

McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, according to a memo cited by Bloomberg. This promotion, which initially launched on June 25, will continue to be available at approximately 93% of its U.S. locations, although the duration of the offer may differ by site, with some restaurants opting to continue the deal into August.

As consumers navigate rising food costs, particularly in fast casual dining, this promotional bundle has proven successful for McDonald’s. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai noted a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s restaurants shortly after the promotion’s launch, suggesting that the deal is appealing to consumers.

The popularity of McDonald’s offer has prompted other fast casual dining competitors to respond with their own deals. For instance, Arby’s introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell also announced a temporary $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Furthermore, Burger King has chosen to extend its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle beyond the McDonald’s promotion. Earlier in June, it announced the introduction of new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s is also tapping into the deal trend with a $3 breakfast bundle and has launched a new $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
