McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for additional weeks. According to a memo from the fast food chain, a majority of its locations in the U.S. have chosen to prolong the promotion, which initially started on June 25 for a limited four-week period.

The meal deal will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the duration may vary by location, with some franchises expected to continue the offer until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly at fast casual dining establishments, the McDonald’s bundle has proven beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai indicated a significant increase in customers at McDonald’s locations shortly after the promotion was introduced, highlighting its appeal to diners.

This deal has prompted other fast casual chains to respond with their own promotions. For example, Arby’s launched a $9 bundle, while Sonic introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box in addition to its ongoing $5 Taco Discovery Box and a Cravings Value Menu.

Meanwhile, Burger King stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would continue longer than the McDonald’s promotion, while also adding new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has been active in the deals arena as well, with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
