McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo from the company, an overwhelming majority of U.S.-based McDonald’s locations have opted to continue the promotion, which originally kicked off on June 25.

This meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the nation. However, the duration of the promotion may differ depending on the specific location, with some franchises choosing to extend the offer until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly at fast-casual dining establishments, the McDonald’s meal deal has proven to be beneficial for the company. Recent findings from foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai indicated a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s locations shortly after the promotion launched, highlighting its appeal among consumers.

The success of this deal has also sparked a competitive response from other fast-casual dining chains, prompting them to introduce their own promotions. For instance, Arby’s has rolled out a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has unveiled a new permanent $1.99 value menu. Additionally, Taco Bell has introduced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, along with its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In May, Burger King announced that its own $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer duration than McDonald’s offering, while also introducing new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s has launched a $3 breakfast bundle and also offers a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
