McDonald’s $5 Meal Deal: A Game Changer in Fast Food Promotions!

Fast food leader McDonald’s has announced that its popular $5 meal deal will continue for several more weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, a majority of McDonald’s locations in the United States have chosen to extend the promotion, which originally launched on June 25, beyond the initial four-week period.

The $5 bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some outlets extending the offer until August.

As consumers face increased food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s deal has proven beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai revealed that after the introduction of the bundle, McDonald’s experienced a significant increase in customer visits, indicating strong appeal among consumers.

The success of McDonald’s promotion has prompted other fast casual dining brands to respond with their own competitive deals. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, and Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box in addition to its $5 Taco Discovery Box and existing Cravings Value Menu.

Earlier this year, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would outlast the McDonald’s promotion, alongside the introduction of new items on its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also entered the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
