Mayweather vs. Gotti III: The Rematch That’s Got Everyone Talking!

Floyd Mayweather is set to continue his exhibition boxing career this Saturday as he takes on John Gotti III in a highly anticipated rematch. This bout follows their first encounter in June 2023, which ended controversially when a brawl erupted after referee Kenny Bayless halted the fight in the sixth round.

During their initial matchup, Mayweather dominated while Gotti received multiple warnings for his aggressive style. The situation escalated when Gotti threw punches after the fight was stopped, prompting Mayweather to retaliate until members from both camps entered the ring. The post-fight chaos even led to the evacuation of the arena.

The rematch will occur at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, and it seems the simmering tension between the fighters has eased as the date approaches.

Mayweather, who retired from professional boxing in August 2017 after his victory over UFC star Conor McGregor, boasts an undefeated record of 50-0. Since retiring, he has participated in seven exhibition matches.

At a recent press conference, Mayweather expressed his excitement about returning to Mexico, celebrating the country’s rich boxing tradition. He acknowledged the legendary fighters from Mexico, including Julio Cesar Chavez, whom his late uncle Roger Mayweather faced twice.

“This Saturday is about putting on a show,” Mayweather stated. “I’ve competed against the best, and I look forward to the challenge.”

John Gotti III, the grandson of notorious crime boss John Gotti, shared his enthusiasm for the opportunity, stating he’s in the best shape of his life and is ready to give fans an exciting performance.

“This is a unique experience,” Gotti remarked. “Floyd kept his word and agreed to the rematch, which I appreciate. We aim to deliver a great fight.”

The undercard features veteran boxer Victor Ortiz returning to the ring against Rodrigo Damian Coria. Ortiz, 37, has been inactive since his unanimous decision win over Todd Manuel in May 2022 but is eager to compete again in this exhibition match.

Fans can look forward to an exciting fight card, including:

– Floyd Mayweather vs. John Gotti III
– Victor Ortiz vs. Rodrigo Damian Coria
– Alan David Picasso vs. Azat Hovhannisyan
– Curmel Tramayne Moton vs. Victor Vazquez
