Floyd Mayweather is making a significant comeback to professional boxing, ending his nine-year retirement. Mayweather, who boasts an immaculate record of 50-0, has announced plans to compete professionally again following an exhibition fight against Mike Tyson, scheduled for the spring.

In a press release shared on Friday, Mayweather expressed confidence in his abilities to break further records in boxing. “I still have what it takes to set more records in the sport of boxing,” he stated. He emphasized the anticipated scale of his upcoming events, predicting they would attract substantial audiences and generate considerable revenue.

To facilitate this return, Mayweather has signed an exclusive deal with CSI Sports/FIGHT SPORTS, which will oversee both his exhibition and professional fights. Specific details regarding event dates, broadcast information, and the identity of his sanctioned opponent will be revealed soon by CSI Sports.

The impending exhibition fight between Mayweather and Tyson has been generating buzz since its confirmation late last year. Reports indicate that the match is set to take place on April 25 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, though CSI Sports has yet to publicly finalize details such as location and rules for the bout. Notably, both fighters bring a wealth of experience to the ring, with a combined age of 107 years. Mayweather last weighed in at 160.7 pounds for his exhibition match with John Gotti III, while Tyson weighed 228.4 pounds for his exhibition against Jake Paul.

Since retiring from professional boxing after his 2017 victory over Conor McGregor, Mayweather has participated in eight exhibition matches, showcasing his enduring popularity. His opponents have ranged from renowned kickboxers to social media stars, including a first-round TKO against Tenshin Nasukawa and an eight-round spectacle with WWE’s Logan Paul.

Tyson, for his part, holds a professional record of 50-7, with two no contests, and has made three appearances in the ring since his retirement in 2004. These have included two exhibition matches and his recent professional fight against Jake Paul, which he lost but was a commercial triumph for Netflix.

As this chapter unfolds, fans are left eagerly awaiting the return of two of boxing’s most legendary figures and the potential for exciting matchups in the near future.
