Sam Mayer has secured the pole position for the Pennzoil 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race scheduled for July 26 at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. His impressive lap time of 54.014 seconds, achieved on a wet track after Friday’s rain, puts him just 0.046 seconds ahead of Nick Sanchez, who will start in second place.
In contrast, Kyle Larson, piloting the No. 17 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, will begin his race in 19th after an incident in turn 1 during qualifying which saw him go sideways.
The full starting lineup for the race includes several notable names and teams. Mayer drives for the No. 41 Haas Factory Team Ford, while Sanchez is in the No. 48 Big Machine Racing Chevrolet. Other competitive drivers include Sheldon Creed, Jesse Love, and Brandon Jones, with seven participants from JR Motorsports alone, highlighting the team’s strength in the series.
The race will take place on a classic 2.5-mile rectangular oval track with a total length of 100 laps or 250 miles. Stages are structured into three segments: the first two consisting of 30 laps each, and the final stage comprising 40 laps.
Fans can tune in to the race with the green flag expected to wave at approximately 3:30 p.m. CT on the CW Network. Streaming options will also be available through FUBO, where a free trial is offered in limited markets, along with NASCAR.com for audio streaming.
