The Dallas Mavericks achieved a crucial 100-98 victory against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night, breaking a frustrating seven-game losing streak on the road. Cooper Flagg led the Mavericks with 20 points, while Brandon Williams secured the win with a pivotal three-pointer with just 33.9 seconds left on the clock.

Anthony Davis contributed significantly to the win, recording 19 points and 16 rebounds. The Mavericks fell behind 98-97 before Williams’ decisive shot gave them the 100-98 lead. Despite a strong push from the Kings to reclaim the lead, key players Dennis Schroder, Russell Westbrook, and DeMar DeRozan were unable to connect on their three-point attempts in the closing seconds.

The Kings, now on a six-game losing streak, were led by DeRozan’s 21 points, coupled with Zach LaVine’s 20 and Maxime Reynaud’s 14. LaVine made his return to the lineup after missing nine games due to an ankle injury but the team faced yet another setback with forward Keegan Murray out with a left ankle sprain, an injury he sustained during a prior game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Mavericks, who had been struggling, managed to outscore the Kings by 14 points in the final two quarters, overcoming a halftime deficit of 58-46. This victory came shortly after a win against the Houston Rockets, marking a step towards reviving their season.

Looking ahead, the Mavericks will face the Utah Jazz on Thursday, while the Kings will take on the Golden State Warriors on Friday. The road ahead is challenging, but this win provides a much-needed boost for the Mavericks as they seek to improve their season standings.
