Mattel has announced the launch of a new Barbie doll inspired by iconic singer Stevie Nicks, this time celebrating her solo career. The Stevie Nicks Bella Donna Barbie doll is introduced in honor of the 43rd anniversary of Nicks’ debut solo album, “Bella Donna,” which features beloved tracks such as “Edge of Seventeen” and “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.”
The collectible doll captures Nicks in the signature flowing white dress seen on the album cover from 1981, complete with her classic black top hat and microphone in hand. Nicks expressed her excitement about collaborating with Barbie once again, stating that she feels honored to be represented in this way.
Reflecting on her journey as a solo artist, Nicks remarked, “I’m reminded of the courage it took to step into the unknown and discover my voice as a solo artist.” She added that the doll represents her musical path and underscores the importance of staying true to oneself. Nicks hopes that the doll will inspire fans, especially younger dreamers, to embrace their potential and pursue their passions fearlessly.
This latest release follows the success of the first Stevie Nicks Barbie doll, which depicted her iconic look from the 1977 Fleetwood Mac “Rumours” album cover. That doll, which became one of Mattel’s most sought-after musician dolls, sold out in less than 24 hours.
As Nicks approaches her 75th birthday, this new release serves as a nostalgic reminder of her enduring impact on music, encouraging fans and aspiring artists alike to chase their dreams with determination and authenticity.
