A hacker has exposed nearly 10 billion passwords in what is being described as possibly the largest leak of its kind ever.
The user, known as “ObamaCare,” posted the passwords in a file named “RockYou2024” on an online hacking forum on July 4, according to Cybernews. This has raised concerns that other hackers could utilize the data for cyber attacks. The vast dataset includes 1.5 billion new plain text passwords obtained from various data breaches, adding to a previous compilation posted on the same forum in 2021 called “RockYou2021.”
