Mary Bonnet has expressed her discontent with Chrishell Stause’s reaction towards former friend Emma Hernan’s boyfriend, Blake Davis, during Season 9 of “Selling Sunset.” In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Mary, 45, articulated her belief that Chrishell’s public disdain for Blake was unfair to Emma, 33.
“I think as a friend, if you have someone going through something like that, you need to be there for them and be the safe space,” Mary explained, referring to the complicated romance between Emma and Blake. She criticized Chrishell for what she perceived as an attempt to humiliate Emma by publicly airing private grievances. “You don’t desert a friend in their time of need,” Mary added. She suggested that Chrishell should have addressed her concerns with Emma privately rather than making them public, which she deemed “uncalled for and very cruel.”
Mary’s support for Emma was evident throughout the discussion. She likened Emma’s experience to her own past relationships, acknowledging that many people have stayed in toxic situations longer than they should have. “You need people to be there for you and to show you your worth and not tear you down even more,” she said, emphasizing the importance of supportive friendships.
The dynamics between Emma and Chrishell were a significant storyline in the latest season, which debuted on October 28. Although Chrishell expressed her disapproval of Blake, Emma’s indecision regarding her relationship with him was also highlighted. Despite their ups and downs, Emma and Blake briefly split during the season, but it seems they have reconciled based on their social media activity. In contrast, the friendship between Emma and Chrishell appears to be strained, particularly after Chrishell accused Blake of using a racial slur.
Looking ahead, Mary hinted that the tensions in the Emma and Chrishell friendship would be addressed in the upcoming reunion episode airing on November 5. Mary commented, “It’s going to be just a bombshell.” In her interview, she also shared her current relationship with Chrishell, mentioning that they do not communicate much but that she still cares for her despite their differences.
“Being part of Selling Sunset continues to unveil the complexities of friendships in the fast-paced world of real estate,” Mary remarked, reflecting on the reality show that follows the high-stakes dynamics of the Oppenheim Group. As fans eagerly await the reunion and the future developments among the cast, “Selling Sunset” remains a captivating exploration of love, friendship, and the challenges that come with both. The series is currently streaming on Netflix.
