Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban has revealed that he was approached by Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign to be considered for the vice presidential role in the 2024 election. However, Cuban ultimately declined the invitation, expressing doubts about his suitability for the position. In a recent video conversation with political commentator Tim Miller, he acknowledged the campaign’s request and humorously noted that he does not excel in roles that require traditional political gestures, such as “shaking hands and kissing babies.”

Cuban shared that he believed the campaign would have taken a markedly different course if he had been selected as Harris’s running mate instead of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. He emphasized that his personality and approach differ significantly from typical political figures, stating, “I think I cut through the shit more directly, I’m not a politician.” Despite his enthusiasm for Harris’s candidacy, he candidly reflected on how their collaboration would likely have been challenging, predicting that Harris would have dismissed him from the role very quickly.

He also mentioned that he was a strong supporter of Harris during her campaign, particularly after former President Joe Biden withdrew from the race in July 2024. At that time, he actively participated in her events and even suggested he could take on leadership roles in entities like the Federal Trade Commission or the Securities and Exchange Commission if given the opportunity.

Interestingly, while Cuban expressed a desire to make a meaningful impact, he clarified that he preferred to act as a “disruptor” in the entrepreneurial space rather than conforming to a conventional Cabinet position. His frank comments highlight his innovative spirit and willingness to think outside traditional political boundaries, suggesting a potential role for business leaders in governance.

This conversation sheds light on the dynamics of political partnerships and the complexities of campaign strategies, showcasing how diverse personalities can influence electoral outcomes. Cuban’s honesty and experience as a business mogul offer a refreshing take on the often predictable nature of political roles.
