He has accumulated 42 strikeouts against 17 walks over 33.1 innings.
Garcia is highly regarded in the franchise, being recognized as the top left-handed pitching prospect in the Mariners organization according to MLB Pipeline. Additionally, he ranks as the fourth overall pitching prospect after notable talents such as switch-pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje and right-handers Ryan Sloan and Michael Morales. Overall, he is the 13th-rated prospect in the Mariners’ farm system.
In his minor league career spanning 68 appearances, including 25 starts, Garcia boasts an 11-7 record with a commendable 2.49 ERA and a striking 10.4 strikeouts-per-9 innings ratio. Drafted in the 11th round of the 2023 MLB First-Year Player Draft from Texas A&M University, Garcia previously played for Quinnipiac University in Connecticut.
On the flip side, Juan Burgos has seen limited action with the Mariners since his promotion to the majors, participating in four games and posting a 4.05 ERA.
