Marcus King Unveils New Music at Surprise Nashville Show!

Marcus King, the son of a legendary South Carolina blues guitarist, began his musical journey at a young age. After releasing three albums with the Marcus King Band, he debuted solo with “El Dorado” in 2020. Now at 29, King has gained fame for his smooth vocals and heartfelt songwriting, recently teasing fans with a glimpse of new music during a surprise pop-up performance.

On May 14, fans flocked to Robert’s Western World in Nashville for an unexpected Marcus King show. There, he not only performed his band’s latest single, “Honky Tonk Hell,” but also unveiled a new, unreleased track titled “Here Today,” co-written with country artist Meg McRee and reigning Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson. His energetic inquiry to the audience, “Any Lainey Wilson fans out there tonight?” generated enthusiastic cheers, before he delivered a soulful rendition of the new song, which reflects themes of transient living and introspection.

King had previously performed “Here Today” during a March concert in Australia, posting clips online and seeking fan feedback on whether he should record it. Responses were overwhelmingly positive, with fans urging him to get it into the studio.
