Marcello Hernández, a rising star on Saturday Night Live, expressed his enthusiasm for continuing his role on the show despite the recent departure of fellow cast member Bowen Yang. Speaking on the red carpet at the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards, Hernández reassured fans that he is committed to his characters, including the popular Domingo. “I’m there, I’m there, I’m there,” he told Justin Sylvester from Live From E!, creating a sense of relief among supporters.

Since joining SNL in 2022, Marcello has enjoyed the unique experiences that come with the job. “I’m having fun, bro. It’s a crazy job and you get to meet so many crazy people—and I love it,” he shared, emphasizing the joy and excitement he finds in his work.

Although the departure of Bowen Yang—who left midseason—was difficult for the cast, Hernández holds a deep admiration for his former teammate. He likened Yang’s talent to that of a sports player, noting, “That’s a guy who put up numbers. Consistent, always putting up big sketches and he had a distinct voice, and everybody loves him.”

As fans look forward to more from Marcello Hernández, his passion and dedication to SNL leave a hopeful tone for the show’s future. The comedy landscape continues to evolve, and Marcello’s enthusiasm could very well contribute to more memorable sketches and moments in the seasons to come.
