A Blue Alert has been issued for Benjamin Hanil Song, a 32-year-old man accused of shooting an Alvarado police officer during a violent incident at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility on July 4. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the FBI reported that Song faces multiple serious charges, including attempted murder of a federal officer and the unlawful discharge of a firearm in relation to a violent crime.
Song is described as standing 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. The last known sighting of him was in Alvarado, Texas, around 11 p.m. on the evening of July 4, specifically in the 1200 block of Sunflower Lane.
In a bid to gather information leading to Song’s capture, the FBI has announced a reward of $25,000. Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen Song or has information about his location to contact the FBI at 800-225-5324.
